Description:
Many wars were fought mainly due to religious matters. A variety of groups with varying goals were involved in the conflict. Spain wanted to defeat Protestantism along with Islam's influence. French Calvinists wanted to defeat Huguenots. The Holy Roman Empire wanted to restore Catholicism in Germany. There was a Civil war between Anglicans and Puritans.
