Seleucus I Nicator (1 janv. 480 av. J.-C. – 1 oct. 480 av. J.-C.)

Description:

One of Alexander's Diadochi (trusted generals who split his empire between them after his death). Led the Macedonian cavalry in The Battle of the Hydaspes River in India and founded the Seleucid Empire, which at its height stretched from eastern Turkey and the Levant to Western India and Pakistan. His name, Nicator, means conqueror. Took part in the wars between the Diadochi after Alexander's death, joining the assassination of Perdiccas of Macedonia. He was assassinated himself in 281 BC by Ptolemy's son Ceraunus during his attempt to reunify Alexander's Empire.
