Euripides (1 déc. 48 av. J.-C. – 1 janv. 40 av. J.-C.)

Description:

Last of the three classical Athenian dramatists, following Aeschylus and Sophocles, Euripides came from a wealthy family. He won his first dramatic festival in 451 and left Athens in 408 to live in Macedonia where he died shortly after. He is said to have written 92 plays but only 19 are still in existence today. He was not nearly as successful as Sophocles, but his work still commanded much Greek attention and clout.
