Women In The 1950s (1 janv. 1950 – 1 janv. 1959)

Description:

Increased use of televisions as a main source of entertainment reinforced a more traditional role for women. TV shows portrayed women as wholesome moms, dutiful wives and supportive friends and this became the cultural ideal and expectation of women during the 1950s. Even women who were college educated, rarely worked outside of the home. Once they graduated from college, the expectation was that they married and raised a family.
