Description:
Teddy was also very passionate about conservation and protecting wildlife and natural resources. Here used the forest reserve act of 1891 in which he protected 150,000,000 acres of land belong to the government and stated that it could not be sold. He also implemented the Newlands reclamation act in 1902 which gave funds for westerners to complete irrigation projects. Lastly, in 1908, he hosted a conference in which several governors attended, and he spoke out about conservation and the role that federal and state governments had to take.
