Literature and the Arts: Realism and Naturalism (1 janv. 1880 – 1 janv. 1889)
Description:
There are also many new popular works of literature at the time that we're focused on post Civil War years. There were many new artists that emerged in the 1890s and became known for naturalism. This focused on the emotions and experiences that were shaped by Human Experience. An example is the naturalistic novel named Maggie: a girl of the streets (1893) written by Stephen crane who told about a brutal Urban environment that would destroy the lives of young people. There were also books that fell under the naturalistic portion which mostly followed the conflicts between nature and civilization. An example of this was The Call of the Wild in 1903.
