Women and The Industrial Workforce (1 janv. 1870 – 1 janv. 1900)
Description:
Women in the industrial workforce grew by 66% during this time period. However, they only earned about 25% of what men earned. The majority of women worked in factories, and were single. Many more women became teachers, nurses, clerical workers, telephone operators and department store clerks. This increased employment provided many women with some economic independence and further blended the home and work environments for women.
