The Gold Rush (1 janv. 1848 – 1 janv. 1859)
Description:
In 1848, Gold was discovered in California, and, consequently, this discovery was the cause of a massive migration westward into the California territory. This Gold Rush occurrence also took place in surrounding areas such as Nevada, Colorado, the Dakotas’ Black Hills, and multiple other western lands. This discovery led to a boom in mining and resulted in tens of thousands of individuals moving westward to discover gold themselves. These “booms” attracted miners from other parts of the world, especially China (made up ⅓ of miners in 1860). California’s population grew from 14,000 (1848) to 380,000 (1860) because of the gold rush.
