Age 55-74: Low-Dose Helical CT (20 h 9 min, 25 août 2055 ans – 5 h 22 min, 25 août 2074 ans)
Description:
If I decide to become a smoker in the ages of 20-30 and either continue smoking or quite around the age of 40 with a 30 pack history, it is probable that I will have an increased chance of lung cancer. Thus, a low-dose helical CT must be completed. This is the same as a regular CT scan in which series of x-rays taken at different angles are combined to produce cross-sectional images. The patient lies on a narrow motored table, which passes through the center of a large X-ray machine. In a low-dose helical CT, the scanning time is quicker and less radiation is used because the lung nodules are more sensitive to radiation exposure.
