World's Policeman (1 janv. 1950 – 1 janv. 2016)
Description:
North Korea's invasion of South Korea resulted in Truman extending the Truman Doctrine to Asia and the use of the U.S. military to contain the spread of Communism in Asia. Although there was no clear victory in the Korean War, it greatly increased the U.S. role as a peacetime military with bases in Europe, Asia, and the middle East from which it monitored the conduct of other nations and thus earned the name "world's policeman." Also, the Korean War reshaped foreign policy to conform with NSC-68.
