First Punic War (1 janv. 264 av. J.-C. – 1 janv. 241 av. J.-C.)
Description:
During this time, Rome and Carthage were fighting for control over the strategic islands of Corsica and Sicily. Rome ultimately won, and forced Carthage to hand over their land holdings on the island of Sicily so Rome could have control. Also, as a result, Rome became the most dominant navy in the Meditteranean Sea.
