Description:

Constantine I, or Constantine the Great, had an extreme impact on Rome. In his reign he enacted many reforms to strengthen and reconstruct the government after the crisis of the 3rd century. He reclaimed and resettled territories that had been abandoned by his predecessors and even reduced inflation by introducing the solidus which became the standard in the Byzantine and European empires. He had also been the first Christian emperor and initiated the conversion of Rome into a Christian State.
