Description:

Description: The drive of the US to prevent another communist region initiated the Vietnam War. It was considered a “proxy war” due to the fact that the Soviet Union and the US supported different sides.
Significance: It ended in a win for communism and resulted in unity among Vietnam under communism. It also increased tensions between the US and Soviet Union, causing more violence instead of diplomatic solutions.
