Description:
The point of the campaign was to put fear into Georgia's population and pressure them into abandoning the Confederacy. Sherman's soldiers burned down houses and stole food from the people who fought back. However, they didn't destroy any of the towns in their path.Major Generals

Result
It broke Southern morale and likely put an end to the Civil War much more faster if it didn't happen.
