The Rebellion of Lower Canada (4 h 33 min, 23 nov 1837 ans – 9 h 53 min, 19 mai 1838 ans)

Description:

1. Battle of St. Denis took place on November 23, 1837. The rebels were under the leadership of Dr. Wolfred Nelson and Lt. Col. George Weatherall, they waited for British troops in St. Denis. The British troops walked into a trap and lost six soldiers and one cannon. The Patriots had won this battle.
2. Battle of St. Charles was fought on November 25, 1837. 350 British troops marched into St. Charles where 100 patriots were waiting for them. The British attacked the Patriot stronghold with cannons. 60 Patriots were killed and soon, the Patriots were on the run. The British had won this battle. The British went back to St. Denis and burnt it to the ground.
3. Battle of St. Eustache took place on December 14, 1837. 1400 British troops marched into ST. Eustache with 12 cannons. Even though the Patriots were outnumbered, they fought as bravely as they could, but under the forces of the British troops, they had to take shelter in the church. The British set the church on fire and shot Patrots that attempted to escape, despite the fact that the church was a sacred and holy place for both British and French people. The cruelty of St. Eustache ends the Rebellion of Lower Canada, but battles and arguments continue for two more years.
