The Cotton Library moves to Essex House (1 janv. 1702 – 1 janv. 1730)
Description:
After its transfer to the government in 1706, the Cotton Library was moved to Essex House, on the Strand, London. However, Essex House was deemed a fire hazard, and so was demolished to make way for the new Essex Street. The Cotton Library, and Beowulf along with it, was then moved to Ashburnham House.
