-Spoil System: Jackson replaces former government officials with his own political suportpers.-Nullification crisis: South Carolina threatens to secede from the union because of high tariffs. Andrew Jackson is angry about this and threatens to send troops, but Henry Clay defuses the situation by saying they would reduce tarffis gradually.
