Description:

In the mid-80s, a lot of new rap groups formed these groups began creating hip hop songs with catchy melodic hooks. When punk rock group Beastie Boys began shouting raps instead of singing, their style also became very popular and their debut album Licensed To Ill became hip hop's first number-one album. This was the start of the golden age of hip hop

In the late 80’s a new type of rap called political rap became popular rappers began incorporating political messages in their lyrics.
