Washington Naval Treaty (6 févr. 1922 – 19 déc. 1934)

Description:

The Washington Naval Treaty, or the "Five-Power Treaty," was a treaty designed in 1922 with the major Allies of World War I (also the big three), which essentially agreed to prevent an 'arms race' through strictly limiting any naval construction. The treaty affected how much money countries could spend on weapons so when the war did begin they didn't have enough to create more dangerous weapons than they did. It caused places like Japan to do less damage, it also caused countries to save their money. The Washington Naval Treaty affected the world for the better as it meant countries were less able to do so much damage through expensive arms. The treaty did essentially disolve on the 19th of Dec 1934 though when japan failed to abide by its terms.
