Description:
Cause: replenish Britain's finances after the French and Indian War with France. Part of the revenue went to British soldiers to maintain peace between Native Americans and Colonists.Effect: imposed a direct tax on the colonists. printed materials must bear a tax stamp that can only be earned when they collected the tax.
