Khrushchev's Thaw: Culture and the arts (1 janv. 1950 – 1 janv. 1960)
Description:
Censorship eased and a move away from Stalin’s/Zhdanov’s strict conformity. A limited rage of foreign literature and films allowed. Abstract art was limited.
However, many of the works allowed furthered Khrushchev’s purpose as they were anti-Stalin. Dissident writers who criticised the Soviet system still risked arrest and imprisonment.
