Description:

Also known as the "hammer and anvil" or "search-and-destroy" tactic, the Army (especially it's elite Atlacatl Battalion) would encircle a zone and essentially destroy all in that zone until they rooted out the guerrillas. Oftentimes that simply meant killing everyone in the zone and then burning down the homes and public buildings. (pg. 47)
