A height protective traff (or tax ) was sight in to the law by the us government s.c espaculy john Calhoun strongly disagreed with the tariff thy though it was tatgitinh S.C nullified the Federal law calling it unconstitutional until a forced bill was threaten which would brag the national army into the state to Make sure the law was followed a compromise took place south Carolina would pay the tax if the u.s government lowered the tax the u.s government lowered the tax and would not seand troops if s.c agreed to pay the tax.
