Description:
Leofric, one of the three priests who comes from Normandy with Edward the Confessor, is made Bishop of Crediton and Exteter, and remains in his seat till 1072. King Edward granted two dioceses that Lyfing (bishop of Worcester) had held, Crediton and Cornwall to Leofric, who combined the two sees at Crediton in 1050.
