1905 Revolution (22 janv. 1905 – 1 janv. 1906)

Description:

Began after the Bloody Sunday in Petersburg - on the 22 Jan a peaceful demonstration for social reforms was brutally halted by the army. 1000 people have been shot.

The revolution was appeased by largely symbolic changes to the system. People believed the tsar would keep his word. Nevertheless, it was the first time when Russia had a government lead by a prime minister. The Duma was created and some autonomies were widened.
