Roman Expidition in Arabia (1 déc. 27 av. J.-C. – 1 nov 26 av. J.-C.)
Description:
Gaius Aelius Gallus was the second praefectus Aegypti (governor of Roman Egypt), from 26 to 24 BC, during the reign of Augustus. Accounts of his expedition to Arabia Felix are given by Strabo, Cassius Dio and Pliny the Elder. Strabo's account is particularly detailed, and derives most of its information from Aelius Gallus himself, who was a personal friend of Strabo.
