Emancipation Proclamation (22 sept. 1862 – 22 sept. 1862)
Description:
Lincoln made a proclamation to free all slaves in confederate states. Over 180,000 slaves joined the U.S army. The battle ended when the south had surrendered.
Outcome: The proclamation had failed, no one had agreed to do it. but the slaves who survived the battle were free.
Significance: It is important because it was when the slaves were free. Also it was when slavery was abolished in that area.
