Description:

Born in South Africa, Kiara Nirghin is a 20-year-old inventor and grand-prize winner of the 2016 Google Science Fair. She won the competition by creating a polymer made of avocado and orange skin that is able to retain over 100 time its mass in water. She is continuing her education at Stanford University as an undergraduate in hopes to continue to invent and discover more ways to make the economy more green-friendly (“Devoted to Discovery").
