War of 1812 (15 juin 1812 – 24 déc. 1814)
Description:
The war of 1812 had much build-up to it as Britain repeatedly went against American sovereignty and made moves to undermine American relations across the globe. The War Hawks, which were southern-western Republicans, were outspoken on the war and argued for Madison to declare war. Already preoccupied with fighting France, Britain was in no place to sustain a military effort on two sides and conceded to America. Fights included the Battle of Lake Erie and the Battle of Baltimore.
