Pyrenees Standoff (13 janv. 1934 – 20 août 1934)

Description:

Following the Spanish communist invasion of Andorra on January 11th, French troops are mobilized and begin to assemble at the Pyrenees border.

Spain establishes a "people's administration" in Andorra, but eventually agrees to the 'Toulouse Compromise' and stands down in exchange for monetary compensation from France.

Manuel Azaña, the man who caused the Spanish invasion of Andorra in the first place, was held in prison camps during most of the standoffs, but as part of the compromise is allowed to return to Andorra, from where he eventually ends up emigrating to France.
