Andrew Jackson, born in 1767, was America’s seventh president. His term was from 1829-1837. His vice presidents were John C. Calhoun (1829-1832) and Martin Van Buren (1833-1837). During his time as president, Jackson became the leader of the new Democratic party. Jackson was a supporter of state’s rights and a fan of extending slavery into the western territories.
