- Dudley Pound, Martin Dunbar-Nasmith, Percy Noble, Max Horton, Frederick Bowhill, Philip de la Ferté, John Slessor, Leonard W. Murray, Royal E. Ingersoll, and Jonas H. Ingram led the Allied effort
- The 3,000-mile-long shipping lanes along the Atlantic Ocean
- The German military aimed to stop the transportation of the needed food and war-materials along the Atlantic to the British and Soviet army's, by destroying 681 Allied ships the first 7 months into 1942 using German Wolf Packs.
- The Allies won the battle and it allowed them to keep control of the Atlantic and continue transportation.
