Second vatican council (1 janv. 1962 – 1 janv. 1965)

Description:

St. John XXIII (1958–1963) convened the Church’s twenty-first ecumenical council. The council enacted many changes, including the change of the celebration of the liturgy from Latin to the vernacular, or local languages. The council issued sixteen documents, mainly treating the Church, her inner workings, and her relationship to the world. St. Pope John XXIII died before the end of the Council, which was closed by Pope Paul VI (1963–1978).
