Stephen Jay Gould was an American biologist, paleontologist, historian, and philosopher. He has made a many significant contributions to multiple fields of study (AMNH). Gould was born in New York and attended many prestigious universities; to include Antioch College, University of Leeds, and Columbia University where he earn his PhD (AMNH).
