1862 Danish War (1 févr. 1862 – 1 nov 1864)

Description:

The first war of German Unification started in 1862. Bismarck of Prussia allied with Austria to fight the Danes in war to protect the interests of Holstein, a member of the German Confederation. This war ended with an Austrian-Prussian invasion of Schleswig-Holstein to end Danish control of these provinces. As a result of this war, Prussia gained great support from Germans, especially nationalist who hoped these provinces would come under German control.
