Description:
Leon Battista Alberti was born Feb. 14, 1404 in Genoa and died on April 25, 1472 in Rome. He was a humanist and initiated the renaissance art theory. His most famous work is the Santa Maria Novella and the Palazzo Rucellai. The Santa Maria Novella was a gothic church that was started in 1278 and was completed in 1350. The Palazzo Rucellai was designed in 1445 and finished in 1470 for the Rucellai.
