John Dalton's Atomic Model (1 janv. 1803 – 31 déc. 1803)

Description:

In 1803, John Dalton, an English Chemist, proposed his atomic model. Quite similar to Democritus' model, Dalton's atomic theory stated that atoms were invisible, unchangeable, indestructible building blocks of matter, that the characteristics of elements depend on the weight of its atoms, that all compounds are mere combinations of atoms, and that different elements have different atoms. Dalton's model was dubbed "the billiard ball model" because of the blatant resemblance between his proposed atom and a billiard ball.
