First Industrial Revolution (1 janv. 1760 – 1 janv. 1840)
Description:
The industrial Revolution was a time when machines began to mass produce things that had previously been painstakingly handmade. During this time there was growth in textiles, coal, and iron. The Industrial revolution began in England and spread to the rest of the world. In the mid-18th century, inventions like the spinning jenny were created to make textiles much more efficiently. This lead to textile factories all over Britain. The factories used steam power which required coal, causing the air quality in parts of Britain to become very bad. The beginning of the industrial revolution in the United States is usually credited with the opening of the first textile mill in Rhode Island.
