Beginning in 1789, the French Revolution was a period in France where the people overthrew the monarchy and took control of the government. The French Revolution succeeded in obtaining great power for the lower-class citizens of France, creating a constitution and limiting the power of the monarchy. This ten year event had such a great impact on the world and probably transformed it more than any other revolution before.
