Description:

During the Revolution the people overthrew the monarchy, established a republic, and began violent periods of political turmoil. The causes of the French Revolution are very unsure and are still debated among historians. The American Revolution helped set the stage for the events of the French Revolution. They showed France that a rebellion based on enlightened principles, including natural rights and equality for all citizens.
