The Stolen Generations (1 janv. 1910 – 1 janv. 1970)

Description:

The British were very discriminative to the Indigenous Australians. People would shoo them away and encourage people to stay away from them. They even considered as flora and fauna. So in 1910 the government instructed that all indigenous children were to be removed from home and sent to camps where they would be treated like white people. They were also put into white people homes, adopted or fostered out to non-Indigenous families.

Indigenous Australian suffered grief because they lost their families and there was nothing they could do to fight back. The pain was so bad that some mothers died from grief. This was a huge step down for Australia's development because it showed that we weren't accepting and the ways we treated the true owners of this land was unacceptable.
