1515-1547 Francis I King of FranceFrancis I King of France after a long line of weak, sickly kings making him beloved by France. He was a patron of the arts, and launched the French Renaissance, attracting the likes of Leonardo da vinci. Francis also launched France’s exploration of the New World and absolute monarchy in his country. His rein spread humanism and protestantism.
