Description:

The decisive war against the Ottoman Empire.

12 September 1683 - Battle of Vienna. Polish-Lithuanian army under Jan III Sobieski strikes a decisive blow in a largest cavalry charge to date. Crushing the Ottomans, they score an overwhelming victory.

1684 - The Holy League founded. A pact between the Reich, Venice, the Papal States and the Commonwealth of Poland-Lithuania.

1686 - Russia joins the Holy League

1699 - Peace Treaty of Karlovitz

The Ottoman Empire is in decline, never to seriously threaten its neighbours again. The Habsburgs gain full control over most of Hungary and Transylvania. Russia's position rises.
