Thought to be the lost brother of Feodor I, False Dmitry I was most likely a fake impersonator.

He seized the Russian throne after convincing the Polish nobles along with the king to help him, in turn for establishing Catholicism in Russia.

Poland helped impersonators of the late prince Dmitry seize the Russian throne in exchange for territorial gains.

1610 - Battle of Kłuszyn; a significant Polish victory secured by the hussars.

1618 - Truce in Deulino (Dywilin); Resulted in territorial gains for Poland
