Oliver Cromwell turns England into a facade Republic - in reality a hereditary dictatorship.As Lord Protector, he instituted reforms which resulted in another period of economic growth.
Eventually, the gentry got fed up with the military dictatorship and lead to a restoration of the Stuarts.
