Cristina Warren was a celebrity with experience in social media and as a vlogger. Lacking any experience in government she was propelled by her celebrity influence during the election. She was elected to her first term as President of the United States in 2036, in a very close election that divided the country. Warren pledged to bring up the economy and to avoid focusing on military interventions against foreign nations including Russia and China. Warren’s lack of political knowledge contributed to the skepticism from the american population, however she was elected due to Burke's poor job at managing the economy. Warren automatically tried to bring up the economy by turning to the big businesses to resuscitate the economy. Warren before her election as president had big ties to the company Cyberlife who had been taking huge advantage of the government services. Warren turned to Cyberlife to try and rescue the economy by greatly lowering the prices for androids in return for the government supplying the company with the element Thirium, which is what the androids are fueled by. Warren provided Cyberlife with loads of money so they can mass produce androids to supply to the government and the general public as well as cities and the states. All of this caused the economy to soar with big businesses taking over. However with androids being cheaper, businesses bought androids instead of employing people. This caused the unemployment rate to soar up to 35%. The High unemployment caused the Red Ice Epidemic to become even worse as the unemployed began to use the drug in place of the emotional damage done to being replaced by androids. Although the unemployment rate was rising, the economy stayed steady due to the government supplying businesses with money which tripled the national debt in only three years. Warren's cabinet fell into disarray at this time due to her lack of political experience. Warren's approval rate fell from 33% to less than 20%. Her political allies were even surprised she was still in office. The public was so unsatisfied with her presidency in the first year because of her lack of economic and political knowledge and her favoring big businesses. In 2038 the Russian government set their eyes on the arctic because of the receding ice caps. The arctic held many valuable natural resources such as Thirium and Oil. Despite Warren's stance on foreign policy being to stay out of the way with Russia, she wanted to intervene with Russia for the United States Thirium and Oil interests. Warren stated that Russia has no business in the arctic and that the arctic is undisputed territory of America. During the rising tensions between Russia and the United States, President Warren was under investigation to determine whether or not she had benefited from CyberLife's help in obtaining compromising information about her opponent during the presidential campaign. The Media turned directly to the conflict brewing between the U.S. and Russia over the Arctic as the Rivalry between President Warren and the Kremlin of Russia, President Ivanoff, feud and debate over the military presence in the Area. When Warren demanded that Russia remove all troops from the arctic, Ivanoff called Warren’s words as “Megaphone Diplomacy” which he refused to meet her demands. The Tensions went as far as a Russian aircraft carrier firing upon an American Patrol boat which the boat fired back with no injuries. Warren called Russia's actions “a crime against the international community” and called Ivanoff “a dangerous individual.” Upon the rising tensions between Russia and the United States, a malaria pandemic in the Horizon Islands in the mediterainian caused a pro CSAT government to provide aid with the Pandemic. This caused the Horizon Islands population to vote for a pro CSAT Government to take over. The Newly elected government saw the NATO and US presence in the nation as “useless” and mandated the withdrawal of all American and NATO troops in the islands only to be replaced with Chinese led CSAT forces. This caused a major shift in the mediterrainian and took away the NATO foothold in the area. Once again Warren became more vocal of her Distaste of Russia when a Destroyer-class Submarine, The USS Iowa, went missing in the polar waters. This came with immediate vocal suspicion of Russia from Warren who strongly believed that the Russians were behind the disappearance. Although the Kremlin denied any involvement, the Russian Ambassador claimed that the submarine had no business being in the arctic. With the unemployment rate being high, the war tensions slightly increased the economy but not the unemployment rate due to the amount of military androids bought by the US government. Despite the growing tensions between Russia and the US lingering towards war, the nation focused their attention to a domestic android problem.Several androids across the country have broken their programming and fled into the shadows. These androids lessened the strain of the war a little bit. On November 9th of 2038, A deviant android took control of Stratford tower in Detroit to tell the public of their sapience and their free thinking. This caused everyone to be on edge and dropped the Cyberlife Stocks tremendously. Several Androids protests happen after this mainly in Detroit when several cyberlife stores were attacked by androids. After these occurrences, President Warren made an immediate order to remove all androids from law enforcement and from the military which reduced the military by losing ⅔ of the effective personnel. Although the US being weak militarily, Russia does the same by decreasing many androids from workers as well as reducing their military as well and ending the tensions as of that point. Warren ordered the immediate raid of the deviant android headquarters called Jerico. Warren ordered a national curfew to take care of all androids to be found and deactivated. In all the Major Cities in the United States, the military is sent to destroy the remaining androids. The Remaining deviant androids in Detroit march in the main street where a standoff takes place between the unarmed Androids and the military and law enforcement. The public mind is changed when the two leading deviant androids in the last standoff in Detroit kiss before being killed. Warren, under pressure, grants full pardon upon the existing androids. On November 12th of 2038, President Warren officially granted all existing androids citizenship and ordered the outlaw of the manufacturing of more androids. Cyberlife goes out of business and the Tensions between Russia and the US cease temporarily as both militaries and workforce are being repaired. The Unemployment rate dramatically drops in the US when all the androids lose their jobs. And the Red Ice epidemic drops with the less amount of poor citizens and the demand for a workforce. Despite the temporary victory, in early 2039 Russia hosted the Moscow Summit which introduced Belarus into the CSAT which significantly increased CSAT influence throughout eastern Europe. There were also talks about belarus’s inclusion into the Russian Federation. With anti-CSAT paranoia in Eastern Europe at all-time highs, the U.S. Army has once again shifted its focus to containing CSAT expansionism in the region.As part of the biennial "Electron" exercises, first signed in late 2035, several Brigade Combat Teams regularly deploy on a rotational basis every two years to Livonia. The latest exercise, "Electron-39", will involve more than 10,000 personnel from the Army and is primarily aimed at deterring infiltration attempts by the Russian military along the so-called "Andrzejów Gap", a stretch of land that runs through the heart of Livonian territory. During all this conflict in late 2039 Tex Murphy became the first person to walk on Mars from the United States. This was a huge accomplishment in Humanity and US history which gave the US a bragging point upon the CSAT. In 2040, The US and their allies had been coming together to talk about a military alliance to counteract the CSAT outside of NATO. This military alliance consisted of mostly western powers and became the biggest military alliance in history. This alliance became known as the GDI. Despite this being a major part of Warren’s cooperation, in the end the United States had little inclusion in the decision making of the GDI itself despite the headquarters of the GDI being in Washington D.C. Despite Warren’s approval rating going up slightly after 2038, Warren was ultimately defeated in her reelection by republican Howard T. Ackerman.
