Description:
Jean Senebier was born May 6, 1742, in Geneva and died on July 22, 1809. He was a naturalist and botanist. He completed a major work called Physiologie végétale. In this he demonstrated that light was needed in order for plants to convert carbon dioxide into oxygen. He also showed that photosynthesis was only possible in the presence of carbon dioxide.
