Description:
Religions ( mainly Christianity ) dominated Europan thinking on mental illnesses. Again it is thought to be demons and/or the devil. Treatments included exorcisms burning and drowning. Many people were locked inside lunatic asylums. Doctors continued to search for physical causes of depression.
