The Community Based (Decarceration) Era (3 janv. 1967 – 1 janv. 1980)
Description:
After the Treatment Era, a movement began to focus more on reformation with communities, rather than institutionalized corrections. This was based on the idea that rehabilitation cannot in isolation away from communities where the offender will return at the end of their sentence.
Community Corrections is currently in decline, however some programs like work release continue to be used in the system.
