Description:

The most powerful pharaoh of the Middle Kingdom. The nomarchs kept some powers, but others were returned to the pharaoh. The pharaoh and the nomarchs shared powers. Egypt grew strong and the pharaohs became more interested in trade. Trade routes were established between Egypt and Mesopotamia. Senusret sent Egyptians to the Sinai Peninsula to mine tin and copper, which was traded with Mesopotamia.
